It has been just announced that the breakout NBC drama series, 'This is Us', has two new showrunners for next season: co-executive producers Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger. 

The duo, who have worked in the past in the shows Friends with Benefits and The Neighbors, is being promoted to executive producers and co-showrunners alongside This Is Us creator/executive producer Dan Fogelman.

The freshman family drama, whose season finale airs on March 14, already has been renewed for a second and a third seasonconsisting of minimum 18-episodes each.

“Isaac and Elizabeth are incredible talents who write with such passion and emotion; their voices are bold and original and the contribution they’ve made to This Is Us this year has been extraordinary,” said 20th TV President of Creative Affairs Jonnie Davis. “They are hugely valuable to Dan and to everyone at this studio, and we are thrilled that they will showrun alongside him next season as well as remain in the studio family for years to come.”

To date, 72 million total viewers have viewed the first 10 episodes of 'This is Us' in some fashion on all platforms.

The cast includes Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones.

The New York Times classifies the show as 

"Skillful, Shameless Tear-Jerking"

Entertainment Weekly's Jeff Jensen says:  "A 21st century thirtysomething for a TV generation that likes a splash of high concept in their shows and isn’t afraid of melodrama."

TVLine's Dave Nemetz writes: "With emotionally resonant dialogue and top-notch performances, This Is Us should fill that Braverman-sized hole in your heart."
