Incandescence by Dani Pasquini
🌿"This body is mine. Never hide it from me. You are perfect."🌿
- The Gold Feather series. -
Summary: Since the bloodshed in the desert and Lily's love Peter's devastating desertion, the group that book 1 made us fall in love with have been on the run from the agency. Even in the quaint new way of life they have made for themselves, Peter's absence sorrowfully wraps itself around every aspect of Lily's mind. Until a man they once knew enters their lives once again with a warning, they must flee once more. Their journey brings them into contact with a heartbreaking equilibrium of loves and threats, making each joy become a question of time and each sense of despair more wounding than the last. Leading us to ask will they be able to elude their captors or are they all fated to remain the science experiments they were designed to be?
Review: I have been an avid reader since I was a very young child and during the time since I have embraced love for many different books. However, I can say with certainty that I have never felt as personally grateful as I do to an author and their written words than I do in this case. Dani Pasquini has written a series in which I feel at home, dealing with a wider range of crucial issues and stigmas more beautifully than I have ever seen. These pages are an exquisite attempt to bring relief to anyone and everyone that suffers and struggles to cope with mental and/or emotional matters in their lives, with words screaming acceptance.
Pasquini emphasizes the importance of both platonic and romantic ties between people, never once making an exchange (whether through conversation between friends or sexual experience between lovers) crude, shameful or cliche but instead showing a natural artistry to intimacy, for once allowing young adult readers to feel respectable in their relationships as opposed to criticized.
Through a well written and exceptionally original plot that balances character growth and tension building action wonderfully, Incandescence and The Gold Feather series as a whole is something I more than encourage you to get yourself copies of.
